Just a few words…

 Dear visitor to the ISA website,

The media and particularly the Internet are bringing the world closer together. Ever-closer ties are developing within the European countries, a process which is taken for granted as a reality in many places. Of course such development will trigger certain actions, e.g. with regards to our educational institutions. Following the request for an international school, industries of the Augsburg region initiated the foundation of the International School Augsburg, ISA, as a non-for-profit school five years ago. There was also great joy amongst the universities, the scientific as well as the cultural and sporting community over the establishment of such an international educational institution, especially with regard to the fact that as of 2005 there was now another international school succeeding Munich and Nuremberg – a school for the region of Augsburg.

The international assignment of skilled personnel in all economic areas changes the rhythms of people’s lives. Families need to demonstrate an increasing flexibility in terms of working both in Germany and abroad and are therefore faced with the challenge of finding a suitable school for their children, a school that can ensure their children a seamless transition in terms of education, a school that can help to prevent a break in their children’s development because of their parents` need to move to a new place of work.

In 2004, an initiative of regional industries provided the impetus for the foundation of ISA.  What this means in real terms is that with a helping hand from the Swabian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, over 50 renowned companies have been supporting the establishment of this private school. Let me state emphatically that this is all the result of a special project aimed to support regional business development. At this point, I would like to thank my fellow entrepreneurs, including the trade sector as well as the main and honorary office at the Swabian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, for their work. I have great respect for what they have created.

I would now like to invite you to discover this ISA presentation. The school’s philosophy is met with great interest among the parents of the students. The International School Augsburg encompasses Nursery, Lower School, Middle School and High School and offers several highly important diplomas including the International Baccalaureat Diploma. The concept of an all-day school, small classes and English as the main language are all things that this school offers with the best interest for their students at heart.
