High School
Welcome to High School at ISA, where we help students achieve academic success and personal growth. Our high school programme challenges and supports students as they prepare for their future. Through a mix of strong academics, creative activities, and leadership opportunities, we give students the skills and confidence they need to succeed in a changing world.
Grades 9 and 10: Laying the Foundation for Success
In Grades 9 and 10, students at ISA follow the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) programme, guided by Cambridge International Exams. This two-year programme is designed to give students a strong academic foundation.
Alongside the IGCSE subjects, ISA has developed additional courses to meet the diverse needs of our students. The curriculum helps students deepen their understanding of key subjects and prepares them for the more challenging International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme in Grades 11 and 12.
The programme concludes with the IGCSE exams, which are widely recognized and respected.
Grades 11 and 12: The IB Diploma Programme
In Grades 11 and 12, students transition to the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). This is a demanding and well-respected two-year course that prepares students for university and life beyond school. The IB Diploma Programme is recognized by universities around the world for its high academic standards.
Students must complete six courses in total—three at Higher Level (HL) and three at Standard Level (SL). They also need to complete the IB “Core,” which includes three essential components.
The IB Core
- Extended Essay (EE): A 4,000-word research paper on a topic of the student’s choice.
- Theory of Knowledge (TOK): A course that encourages students to think critically about how we know what we know.
- Creativity, Activity, Service (CAS): Activities that help students develop in creative, physical, and service-oriented ways.
