Health & Wellbeing
At ISA, we believe that the wellbeing of our students is the foundation for their success both inside and outside the classroom. Our comprehensive approach to health and wellbeing ensures that students are supported in all aspects of their lives—from mental and emotional health to physical wellbeing.
Holistic Wellbeing Education
We believe that a strong foundation in wellbeing is essential for students to thrive academically, socially, and personally. We incorporate wellbeing education throughout the different stages of student development, ensuring that their mental, emotional, and physical health are nurtured.
Primary Wellbeing (Grades 1-5)
For our younger students, wellbeing education is integrated into their learning through the Primary Years Programme (PYP). These lessons, which are tied to their units of inquiry, focus on physical development and healthy lifestyle choices, laying the groundwork for a balanced and active life.
Wellbeing Lessons (Grades 6-10)
Students in Grades 6 through 10 participate in regular wellbeing lessons. These sessions are designed to help them navigate the complexities of adolescence, develop healthy habits, and build resilience. The curriculum covers a range of topics including mental health, emotional regulation, and physical wellness.
Eco-School Initiatives
Our commitment to sustainability is evident in our Eco-School programme, where students engage in activities that promote environmental stewardship. The Green Team, a student-led initiative, drives projects focused on sustainable food practices, gardening, and reducing the school’s carbon footprint.
Wellbeing Week Highlights
Each year, our school hosts a Wellbeing Week—a celebration dedicated to promoting healthy living across the school community. During this week, students, teachers, and parents come together to participate in activities and workshops that highlight the importance of mental, emotional, and physical health. From mindfulness sessions to outdoor adventures, Wellbeing Week is a cornerstone of our school’s culture.
Parent Workshops and Community Support
We believe that a supportive community is key to student success. That’s why we regularly host parent workshops on topics such as adolescent development, creating a family plan for technology use, and managing transitions into new school stages (e.g., Middle School, Grade 1, High School). These sessions provide valuable insights and practical strategies for parents to help their children thrive during key developmental phases.
Our Goal
Through our Health & Wellbeing programmes, we aim to equip students with the tools they need to lead balanced, healthy, and fulfilling lives. We strive to create an environment where every student feels supported, empowered, and ready to achieve their full potential.
